The metro depot, on the 48h Open House

Once again, TMB collaborates with the 48h Open House Barcelona festival by opening the doors of the ZAL metro garage, offering the public a unique opportunity to discover what we usually don't know about the metro, within installations designed with the highest technology.

At Metro's garages, trains are tuned and the systems that make this mode of transportation possible to operate are monitored every day. Metro professionals take care of the maintenance of trains, tracks and all the remote control and railway safety systems from different specialized centers spread throughout the metropolitan area. The ZAL facilities are the ones that serve the L9 and L10, the newest lines in the network.

48h Open House Barcelona

In 2024, the most important architecture festival in the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona opens the doors of more than 200 buildings to promote a double reflection on what is important in architecture and what gives it value.

As it did last year, the festival now joins the celebration of the 19th edition of Barcelona Design Week and its global initiative to promote SDG goal number 18 which treats design as a key element for to the present and the future of people.

From this 2024, the 48h Open House Barcelona architecture festival is part of Open House Europe, a project co-financed by the Creative Europe program of the European Commission.
