Service disruptions and recommendations
Disruptions to the bus service
On Thursday, November 28th, at 6 p.m., Barcelona welcomes Christmas with the popular lights switching-on ceremony in the city. Both children and adults will be able to enjoy this spectacle that will take place on Passeig de Gràcia, between Ronda de Sant Pere and Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes.
On the occasion of the Christmas lights switch-on ceremony, there will be important disruptions to the bus service.
- Time of the disruption: between 5.00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., approximately.
- Affected lines to be diverted or route limited: D50, H16, V15, 7, 19, 22, 24, 52, 54, 55, 67 and Barcelona Bus turístic (red and blue route).
Transport recommendations
Due to the disruption of the bus service in the city center, we recommend the use of the metro to get to the area. You can get to the area where the show is taking place by getting off at Passeig de Gràcia (L2/L3/L4), Universitat (L1/L2), Urquinaona (L1/L4) and Catalunya (L1/L3) stations.
In the event of high passenger numbers, make sure that at all times you follow the instructions given by staff, who will be in contact with the public safety authorities. Public announcements on loudspeakers and illuminated panels will also keep you informed and provide any necessary instructions.
For further details, you can check out the Barcelona City Council website.
