2022 TMB Hackaton
Here at TMB (Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona), and Youth For PUblic Transport, from UITP (International Association of Public Transport) Foundation, we looked for creative people linked to the world of design, architecture and engineering who are interested in innovation, to help us to design the bus of the future.
The Hackaton was held on November 25 and 26 2022.
Marking the centenary of the Barcelona bus network, this edition of the TMB Hackathon gave us a contrasting picture of buses, from what they were like in 1922 to the planned bus of the future a century later.
Taking part in this two-day event were multi-national and multi-disciplinary teams of students, developers, entrepreneurs and individuals interested in innovation in general to brainstorm ideas and come up with solutions that encourage mobility, improve user experiences and help us to improve mobility.
The 2022 TMB Hackaton challenges
This year’s theme is centred on two challenges:
- Designing a new bus that adapts to users’ current needs.
- Designing a new bus-stop, to turn it into a key element of the city.
Methods will involve intentionally using, training and exploring the best aspects of face-to-face and remote collaboration and transforming each disadvantage into an opportunity to learn, grow, connect, resolve and inspire.
TMB-Y4PT staff will be offering appropriate supervision for everyone taking part.
