The Centenary in Sant Jordi celebration
Exhibition of historic buses, book signings and much more.
On the 23rd of April, TMB celebrated Sant Jordi with representations of Barcelona a century ago, when the bus network, which this year celebrates its Centenary, was created. Three historic vehicles left the depots and could be visited in these two locations in the city:
- Bus ACLO 410, located in the gardens of Gràcia, opposite Casa Seat near Plaça del Cinc d'Oros. This double-decker bus operated in the city between 1949 and 1965.
- Chausson 59 and Dodge Brothers, located at Arc de Triomf / Pg. Lluís Companys. These two bus models operated between the 1950s and 1970s.
Book signing
On the historic buses, copies of books published to celebrate the centenary were available to buy. Actors dressed in period costumes lived up the day and were handing out bookmarks featuring information about the hundred years of the Barcelona bus network and the Short Story Competition. The authors of the centenary publications also signed copies of their books.
