Buy onlinePrices of the Subsidised T-usual travel card by zone
Description
You can buy a subsidised T-usual if you are unemployed, actively looking for a job and receive public assistance of any kind that for a gross amount less than the guaranteed minimum wage (SMI).
The current guaranteed minimum wage (SMI) is €1.184 per month.
The subsidised T-usual monthly travel pass is valid for one zone and may be used only in the zone in which it was validated for the first time. Only in the case that you are actively seeking work as part of a programme run by the Catalan Employment Service (SOC) that specifically requires a T-usual, the SOC will advise how many zones you are entitled to have covered by the travel pass.
The subsidised T-usual is a personal ticket and you can only use it if you are the cardholder.
The organisation that sets the characteristics of the pass is the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM).
Requirements
You must be registered as unemployed and meet at least one of the following requirements:
Receive a subsidy from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) for an amount less than the SMI
- See which allowances or benefits from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) entitle you to purchase and use the subsidised T-usual.
- Request a certificate that indicates the gross monthly amount and the period of time during which you are entitled to receive the allowance through Benefit Certificates. The termination date of your allowance must be after the purchase date of the subsidised T-usual card.
- Other Social Security pensions, allowances and benefits do not grant you the right to acquire or use a subsidised T-usual card.
Be actively searching for a job and not receiving assistance or receiving an amount less than the SMI
- You must have been registered as a job seeker for at least 12 months in the last 2 years and
- you must be actively looking for work through a programme run by the Catalan Employment Service (SOC).
- if you receive any assistance, it must be for a gross amount less than the interprofessional guaranteed minimum wage (SMI).
Receive social services assistance from the municipal authorities and not receive any assistance from the state authorities
- If you live in a municipality within the area of the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority and you are registered as a resident,
- you are unemployed, actively looking for a job and
- you receive social services assistance from the municipal authorities.
You must request from your local authorities a certificate on which your full name, your personal identification number (DNI), foreigners' identification number (NIE) or passport number appear. This certificate must also verify that you are unemployed and receive social services assistance from the municipal authorities.
You can check if your municipality is within the area of the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM) on the list of municipalities found on the page Map by zones.
What are the procedures you have to carry out?
- Register as a T-mobilitat user.
Create a T-mobilitat account and link it to your JoTMBé account through TMB Tickets or TMB App. It takes just a few minutes.
- Apply for the Employment profile
Just select the Add profile action found in T-mobilitat profiles on TMB Tickets website.
- If you are entitled to the Employment profile because you receive a benefit from the SEPE, you must attach the certificate issued by the SEPE.
- If you are entitled to the Employment profile because you meet the second requirement, the SOC will send a digital certificate that also includes the number of zones corresponding to your T-usual. Therefore, you do not need to attach any document.
- If you are entitled to the Employment profile because you receive social benefits from the municipality, you must attach the certificate from the municipality and the certificate from the SOC (DARDO), which shows that you are actively seeking employment.
You can request the Employment profile within 30 days from the issuance of any of the certificates. If the certificate is dated earlier, you must request a new one and submit your application once you have it.
In cases where you need to provide certificates, the assignment of the Employment profile requires verification by an agent, which may take up to two days.
The Employment profile is valid for up to 90 days from the date the profile is assigned. When this profile expires, you will need to request its reassignment and provide the new certificate required for each case.
- If you have no support, apply for it and activate it.
Once you receive confirmation that the Employment profile has been assigned to you, you can request the personalised T-mobilitat card, which costs €4.5. This card will already have the Employment profile charged onto it, and you will be able to load and reload the subsidised T-usual for unemployed people onto it.
The personalised T-mobilitat card is sent deactivated. Check how to activate it on the Activating the T-mobilitat card page.
- If you already have a support device, assign the profile to it.
Once you receive confirmation that the Employment profile has been assigned to you, you must add the Employment profile to the T-mobilitat personalised card from the support details page on TMB Tickets. From that point on, you will be able to load and reload the subsidised T-usual for unemployed people onto the support.
If you prefer to carry out this procedure face-to-face, you can contact any Quiosc T-mobilitat or Punt TMB. You will need an appointment to do so. You will need to bring the original and valid ID, NIE, or passport as well as the certificates.
You can find all the information about the procedures and benefits of T-mobilitat in the specific section.
