The T-16 is a travel card for one zone for children and teenagers aged from 4 to 16, personalised with the user's name and documentary proof of identity. It allows for unlimited free travel while the card remains valid.
The T-16 is valid until six months after the date of the adolescent's 16th birthday. Exceptionally, boys and girls who turned 16 between January 1 and June 30, 2024, can use their T-16 until December 31, 2024.
It is valid for the zone of residence of the minor. If the minor lived in ring 1, the T-16 can also be used for the Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 metro stations of Line L9 Sud.

How can you get one?
- Register as a T-mobilitat user.
Create a T-mobilitat account and link it to your JoTMBé account. You can do it in minutes from TMB Tickets or TMB App.
- Go to your T-mobilitat profile and register the person under 16 as someone in your charge.
You will need to attach the following documents: national or foreign-national ID (both sides of the document of the person in your charge) or passport (the page of the currently valid document showing the photograph and details of the minor in your charge) or family book (the page where the family book number appears and the page of the minor you are registering).
Registering the person in your charge requires verification by an official, so it can take up to two days.
- Request a T-16 card.
Once you’ve received confirmation that the T-16 profile has been allocated to the minor in your charge, you can apply for the medium and ticket. The ticket is free. The medium is a PVC T-mobilitat card with a specific design and which only T-16 tickets can be loaded to. The card costs €4.5.
It will be delivered to your home within 10 work days. You can find out the card’s processing status in "T-mobilitat requests" from TMB Tickets.

Map of zones
The T-16 cared is valid for travelling on public transport through the zone of the municipality you reside in.

Renewal
T-mobilitat does not require regular renewals, and the same card can be used until six months after the holder’s 16th birthday.
Exceptionally, adolescents who turned 16 between January 1 and June 30, 2024, can use the T-16 until December 31, 2024.
Blocking
If you block your support, no one will be able to use it. This is a useful and necessary procedure, should you lose your support or have it stolen.
Go to TMB Tickets and to "See your support’s details"; this will show you all the procedures you can do regarding your support.
Cancelling your support
You can only have one valid T-16 card for a specific zone. So if you need to apply for another support (generally, because you’ve lost it or had it stolen), you will first need to cancel the one you had.
You can cancel your T-16 card through the TMB Tickets "See your support’s details" option.
Loss or theft
In the event that your T-mobilitat card with the T-16 is lost or stolen, the owner of the T-mobilitat account should block and cancel the lost or stolen card through TMB Tickets website.
Subsequently, you must request a T-16 duplicate through the T-mobilitat or TMB Tickets websites or the T-mobilitat Help and Information Centre. You will have to pay the price of the new support (€4.5).
Until you have the new T-mobilitat with the T-16, you must use any other ticket or travel card for which you are eligible.
T-16 expiry and purchasing a new ticket
Buy a new T-mobilitat support now on TMB App or at tmb.cat, and you will receive it at home within a maximum of 10 days.
The T-16 card expires six months after your 16th birthday. That is, if you turned 16 on October 4, 2024, you will be able to use it until April 4, 2025.
As an exception, teenagers who turned 16 between January 1 and June 30, 2024, can use the T-16 card until December 31, 2024.
Please check in advance which transport ticket best suits your needs, and purchase the card that allows you to load the appropriate ticket.
While you are still a minor, you cannot use the electronic wallet to validate tickets through the mobile app.
Therefore, you will likely need to purchase a personalised T-mobilitat card. You can buy it empty, without any tickets loaded, and add tickets starting from January 1.

Can I have more than one T-16?
A double issue of the T-16 can only applied for in the case of children of a parent/legal guardian who demonstrate they are in a situation of shared custody, where the parent or legal representative in question justifies their residing in municipalities with different fare zones. Should this be your case, you can request this additional issue of the T-16. The double issue is made against payment of established management costs.
Can I have a T-16 for more than one fare zone?
No. The T-16 allows you to travel on the public transport network with an integrated fare system, exclusively within the fare zone that the card has been issued for. This is the fare zone for the child’s home address and, in the case of parent/guardians having shared custody and home addresses in municipalities with different fare zones, for that other zone.
I’m going to live in a municipality in another fare zone. Do I have to apply for another T-16?
Yes. If you change your residential municipality and fare zone, you can apply for a new card with the change of fare zone.
The T-mobilitat card with the T-16 will be free provided the card stops working for reasons beyond the control of the user and the card is under warranty. If the card is not under a (5-year) warranty or the user has damaged it, its user will have to pay for a replacement card (€4.50).
Can I have a T-mobilitat T-16 card and a general T-mobilitat card?
Yes, you can have both cards. But the T-mobilitat card for the T-16 can only have this ticket uploaded to it. You can have another T-mobilitat card, for uploading another ticket you can use.
